The Live Music Agent was set up by James Henton, an established performer and professional musician. His aim was to recreate the love he has for live music at functions, corporate events, weddings and parties all over the world. The team has expanded into a small, dedicated group who share that passion and bring a wealth of experience that has proven invaluable to countless event organisers.

The relationship between an act and an audience is a magical thing. The trick is to make sure that each customer finds the perfect artist. We’re here to make sure that happens. We’ll work with you, go through your options, and come up with some new and exciting ideas so that before you know it you’ll be enjoying a night of spectacular entertainment.

James Henton

Founder & Director

James set up The Live Music Agent in 2010 to help venues and customers find the very best entertainment for their events. From humble beginnings, the company has grown from a local music agency to an international booking agent, finding bands for companies like: Intel, L’Oréal, Mars, Anglo American, Oxford University, London Wasps and Johnson & Johnson.

As the singer/guitarist in The Deps, James has a myriad of first-hand experience performing all over the world. He knows exactly what it takes to make any event run smoothly, and his advice has proven invaluable to hundreds of event organisers, wedding coordinators and party planners.

“I love live music! Nothing else can create the kind of atmosphere that music does. I’ve played guitar all over the world and been lucky enough to perform at some incredible events. Whether it’s an after dinner gig in a world famous museum, a half time show at a football stadium, or a wedding service in a church, having the right music transforms a great occasion to an unforgettable experience.”

James works for The Live Music Agent full time and he’s always available to offer friendly and helpful advice to make sure your party is perfect.

Lucy McDonnell

Booking Manager

Lucy began working for the Live Music Agent in 2016, and her experience in event planning has already proved invaluable to clients, ranging from companies booking their gala dinners and Christmas parties, to couples planning their wedding reception and even a small festival.

Having spent the last 12 years working as an events executive for corporate companies and not-for-profit organisations, Lucy is no stranger to planning large-scale events and can offer help and advice on the intricacies of planning the perfect party. Lucy has organised events at some of London’s most famous venues including the Natural History Museum and The British Museum, and she also has plenty of experience organising international events including an awards ceremony at the Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam, which, as you can imagine, was a roaring success.

“There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing months of planning come together to create a special evening that will be remembered for a lifetime. I believe that matching the right band to the occasion is the key to success. If you would like to talk to me about any of the acts then I’m always happy to take the time to make sure that you get the perfect band for your event!”
